Longest Route:
Central America Copa Airlines holds the record for flying the 737's longest commercial route — 2,858 nautical miles (5,300 k's) from Panama City to Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Shortest Route:

Japan Trans Ocean Air holds the record for the shortest 737 route — 7.6 nautical miles (14 k's) between the Japanese islands of Kita Daito and Minami Daito in the Pacific Ocean.

Really Big:

Boeing is home to the largest building in the world by volume (472,000,000 cubic feet).

How Time Fly's:

Since the first 737 took to the sky in 1968, the 737 fleet has flown almost 49 billion nautical miles (90 billion kilometers) in about 124 million hours of service.

The Wright Span:

A Boeing 747's wingspan is longer than the Wright brother's first flight.

A Tall Tail:

The 747-400 tail height is just over 63 feet (19.4 m), which is equivalent to a six-story building.

Art in Motion:

75,000 engineering drawings were used to produce the first 747.

From the company that brings you "Show Me Seattle", comes another wonderful tour of a Washington State icon — The Boeing Factory

The Everett, Washington factory tours are conducted to showcase The Boeing Company and the Everett product line — the 747, 767, and 777. As part of the tour, visitors will be located in the largest building in the world by volume (472,000,000 cubic feet).

On the Boeing flight line, visitors will see airplanes in various stages of flight test and manufacture for airline customers around the world. Visitors come from every walk of life and from every region of the globe, all with a
common interest — to see the number one aerospace leader in the world:
The Boeing Company.

A brief look at the Boeing passenger Aircraft



737

The Boeing 737 is the most popular commercial passenger jet of all time. Each day, the 4,000 737s that are in service worldwide carry a combined total of about 1.3 million passengers. Every 5.3 seconds, a 737 takes off from an airport somewhere on the globe. (Source - Cheryl Addams)


747

The Boeing 747 is the largest airliner in commercial service. The latest model, the 747-400, is 231 feet 10 inches long (70.66 meters). The airplane itself weighs about 400,00 pounds (181,440 kilo's), and fully loaded it weighs about 870,000 pounds (394,630 kilo's). www.boeing.com

The Boeing 767 is the favorite airplane on Atlantic routes; it flies from the United States to Europe more frequently than all other airplanes combined. www.boeing.com

777

The Boeing 777 is the first airplane designed completely on computer. In passenger preference polls taken in 1999, passengers on European and Asian carriers preferred the 777 by a margin of three to one. www.boeing.com

 

The Tour —

The tour starts with our professionally trained driver picking you up at one of several convenient locations. Once aboard our comfortable and never crowded tour bus, the driver will offer some well known and quarky facts about the Pacific Northwest — and our driver's are always open to answering any of your questions.
Once we arrive at the Boeing factory, you will be escorted on an informative tour of the Boeing plant by Boeing representatives. The actual tour through Boeing is usually quite busy but can be alot of fun — especially meeting new and interesting people from all around the world!

After the tour is over, we begin our journey home to the sounds and sites of Seattle.
